You don’t need to be flexible to practice yoga. Your flexibility will increase if you practice regularly. 

Yoga will improve the condition of the muscles and ligaments that support your back therefore improving your overall condition. It is likely that your back pain will improve.

Gentle yogic exercise will improve your strength and flexibility.

Practiced regularly, yoga will improve your balance. You can use a chair or a wall for support during the session if needed.

Utilising a cushion or a folded blanket under your knees can take the pressure off your back however if this is still uncomfortable, you can lie on your side or sit on a chair.

If practised safely, yoga will aid your recovery from an injury. If necessary, I can advise you how to modify any movements that may aggravate it.

Occasionally I may need to advise against undertaking a particular movement.

It is best to avoid eating for at least one and a half hours before the session.

If you already practise yoga then it is safe to continue, possibly with modifications, because your body is accustomed to the practice 

If you have never practised yoga before then I advise that you seek the advice of your midwife before attending a session.
